  20.   A while ago I read an article about faking refraction on Text logos by 
  21. using displacement maps. Has anyone done this correctly? I ALWAYS get 
  22. annoying render errors on the front face. This is what i do.

  24. Use the text function ot make a font object
  25. Extrude it
  26. Name the front back and side faces
  27. Triple object
  28. cut the front and back faces and copy them to another layer
  29. then i copy the front and back to the original layer.
  30. I use a large displacement texture size..about 1.5x larger than the object
  31. a low texture amplitude
  32. and a fairly large wavelenght.

  34. The ripple on my object was not very intense..and still it made errors..i 
  35. had shading angle set to 89.5 and even 120 degrees..still bad errors on 
  36. the front face....

  38.   Any ideas???? What fonts have been successfulllll???????????
